Golden Slumber

Based on the Japanese novel by Isaka Kotaro, Golden Slumber is the latest feature by acclaimed filmmaker Noh Dong-seok (My Generation) which centres on a youngster, who after getting caught up in a political conspiracy, must fight for his life. The slick, fast-paced thriller, which stars some of Korea’s most bankable names including Gang Dong-won and Kim Eui-sung has received much critical praise as well as huge success at the box office, taking top spot amongst the high-profile Lunar New Year releases.

Kim Gun-woo (Gang) is an honest and hardworking courier and after rescuing a pop star is recipient of a Model Citizen Award. Out of the blue an old friend, Moo-yeol (Kim Sung-kyun), visits him at work. With just a short moment to enjoy the pleasant surprise, Kim witnesses a bombing that kills a presidential candidate. Amidst the chaos, Moo-yeol informs Kim that he is being framed for the bombing and must take the fall. He passes Kim a business card, tells him to trust no-one, then kills himself.

Kim quickly flees the scene but becomes a wanted man after security camera footage, witness testimonies and fingerprints all point towards him for the murder of the candidate. He decides to make contact with the person named on the business card. But can this man (Kim Eui-sung) be trusted and more importantly, can he help Kim clear his name?
