Detective K: Secret of the Living Dead

(조선명탐정: 흡혈괴마의 비밀 )

In the third instalment of the successful Detective K franchise, Kim Myung-min and Oh Dal-soo are once again called into action to investigate a series of unusual murders…this time with a supernatural influence. On its debut, this charming pic headed straight to the top of the box office and reaped over US$18 million during its theatrical run.

The brilliant but bumbling Detective K (Kim) suspects vampires exist in Joseon and over the years has filled his spare time in search of information. Meanwhile, on Kanghwa Island a series of murders has taken place and Detective K receives a request from the King to investigate. It appears a number of bodies have been found, each having bite-marks on their neck similar to those left by vampires. The detective travels to Kanghwa with his trusty partner Seo-pil (Oh) where they run into a beautiful woman (Kim Ji-won) who seems to have lost her memory. As they investigate further, they suspect there is more to her than meets the eye …but just what is her connection to malicious vampire spirits?
