My Annoying Brother

Starring K-pop idol Doh Kyung-soo from the immensely successful boy band EXO alongside the charismatic actor Jo Jung-suk, this smart, funny and expertly cast comedy has seen outstanding box office results pulling in a whopping USD7 million in its first weekend alone. Directed by Kwon Soo-kyung and penned by Yoo Yeong-ah, whose Miracle Cell Number 7 remains one of Korea’s highest-grossing movies of all time, the entertaining pic tells the story of two estranged brothers who are forced to repair their relationship after one suffers a life-changing accident.

During a national judo competition, Du-young (Doh) suffers an injury which results in him permanently losing his sight.

His older brother and notorious con-artist Du-sik (Jo) has been estranged from Du-young for years but takes advantage of his brother’s sudden crisis to get paroled from prison. To Du-young, who in his teenage years lost his parents in an accident and has had to fend for himself ever since, the news of Du-sik returning home is further stress to deal with.

Barely adjusting to the fact that he is now blind, Du-young now must now face up to living with his swindler of a brother. After initial difficulties, he slowly warms to Du-sik, who gradually takes charge and helps him adjust to his disability. The two start to make amends but just as their relationship grows, Du-sik learns he has his own health issues to face.
