Masquerade Hotel




Director Masayuki Suzuki (Hero) reunites with Japanese superstar Takuya Kimura (Blade of the Immortal) in this blockbuster based on the best-selling novel of the same name. Topping the box office for two consecutive weeks and surpassing 1.9 billion yen in just 10 days, this mystery revolves around a detective played by Kimura who teams up with a hotel employee played by Masami Nagasawa to crack a difficult murder case.


Three murders take place in Tokyo. Numbers are left at the crime scene, possibly hinting where the next murder will take place. It appears the work of a serial killer and Detective Kosuke Nitta (Kimura) is brought in on the case.  He believes the next homicide will take place at the Hotel Koruteshia, Tokyo. To catch the perpetrator, he goes undercover and assumes a position at the front desk of the hotel.

Naomi Yamagishi (Nagasawa) works at the hotel’s front desk. She has been selected to train Nitta in his new position but  they don’t seem to be able to get along. Detective Nitta is focused on catching the killer whilst Naomi’s priorities are the safety of the guests. As they slowly begin to understand each other’s differences, they also begin to build trust with one another. Meanwhile, the case develops rapidly and it appears both the police and the hotel have been backed into a corner…
