Synopsis: “MIRAI” is the long awaited Japanese animated film by director Mamoru Hosoda (“The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, 2006). The story is about a little boy who comes across a magical garden where he meets a mysterious girl called “Mirai” who takes him to travel to the past and the future to learn about the history of his family. Through his adventures, the little boy learns life lessons that help him to discover “family love”. The film recruits the vocal talents of Moka Kamishiraishi (“Man of the Gold Medal”, 2016) as Kun, the little boy and Haru Kuroki as the mysterious girl Mirai (“Everyday a good day’, 2018). The film was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and then was shown at Annecy International Animation Film Festival and the Sydney Film Festival.

Kun (Voiced by Moka Kamishiraishi), a spoiled little boy, has a new baby sister. Ever since her arrival, he misses his parents' affection and is baffled by things he has never experienced before. Then one day in the yard, he encounters a mysterious girl called Mirai (Voiced by Haru Kuroki) who calls him “brother.” Guided by Mirai, Kun travels through time into stories about his family. It is the beginning of the little big brother's big adventure.
