Gintama 2:  Rules Are Made To Be Broken

(銀魂2 掟は破るためにこそある)

Synopsis:

The first Gintama film was set in the last days of the Edo Shogunate where Japan has opened its doors to aliens they call “Amanto” or “Sky People”. It crammed in all the action it possibly could from science-fiction to comedy and human drama and as a result took Japan by storm and gained the number one spot for live-action Japanese films in 2017. Now Gintama 2: Rules Are Made To Be Broken is set to serve up the delights of its predecessor and is again helmed by Yuichi Fukuda (50 First Kisses) and stars Shun Oguri (Nobunaga Concerto). It debuts at No.1 spot at Japan’s weekend box office with an excellent 0.8 billion Yen!

The second film sees Gintoki (Oguri) and his two comrades from Odd Jobs, Kagura (Kanna Hashimoto) and Shimura (Masaki Suda) looking for employment. In their hunt for work, they cross paths with the most powerful man in Edo, Shigeshige Tokugawa (Ryo Katsuji). The three commoners nervously try to manoeuve the slippery slope of appeasing the most powerful Shogun in the nation. But it appears a conspiracy is brewing. Will Gintoki and his buddies be able to protect the city of Edo from an impending crisis?
