Sparks of passion are kindled in The Lady Improper by Hong Kong Film Award- winner for Best New Director and leading indie filmmaker Tsang Tsui Shan (Big Blue Lake). In the film she pairs Hong Kong model, singer and all-round entertainment goddess Charlene Choi (Simply Actors, The Jade and the Pearl) with the award-winning Taiwan-born actor and model Wu Kang-jen (Rock N’ Road, A Touch of Green).

A woman with a seemingly ideal life, albeit with a drab demeanour, Siu Man (Choi) is abandoned by her husband due to her fear of intimacy. After several crises she decides to reboot her life by taking over her father’s restaurant. There she eventually finds herself attracted to her new chef (Wu), a free spirit who treats cooking as a serious philosophy. Tired of the shackles she placed on herself, Siu Man embarks on a journey of self-discovery and sexual liberation.
