Osaka Asian Film Festival- Special Focus on Hong Kong 2019

Shot over fourteen days, this Hong Kong-style Chinese New Year comedy, which makes much use of Cantonese wordplay, has to date grossed over HK$13 million and become the fifth highest-ranking Chinese-language film of 2019 in Hong Kong. Directed by Pang Ho-Cheung, whose other talents run to novelist, playwright and actor, Missbehavior stars Isabel Chan (Shopaholics, Love in a Puff), Dada Chan (Lan Kwai Fong, Vulgaria), Gigi Leung (Tempting Heart, A War Named Desire) and June Lam (Beast Stalker).

The mobile chat group “Pat Poh” (Nosy Bitches) comprises six girls and two boys. They were once close but for a variety of reasons they no longer speak. The situation continues until one day when group member June (Lam) inadvertently pours breast milk, which had been left by her supervisor, into a client’s coffee. Consequently, she urgently needs to find a replacement bottle before office hours are over. Desperately, she thinks of the friends who used to be so close and approaches Isabel (Chan) for help. Isabel in turn contacts the other group members. As they all strive to assist, they realise they are trying both to rescue June as well as a network of friendship that had appeared to be long gone.
