“Genghis Khan” is an action film directed by Hasi Chaolu (Ti tou jiang, 2006) and produced by reowned French director, Jean-Jacques Annaud. Starring popular film stars William Chan (The Founding of an Army”, 2017), Lin Yun (The Mermaid, 2016) and veteran actor Hu Jun (Let the Bullets Fly, 2010), the film tells a historical story of the legendary leader of the Mongol Empire, Genghis Khan, originally known as Temüjin,and how he went through series of hardships as a teenager, who bore the responsibility as a leader-to-be of the tribe after the death of his father. Genghis Khan’s toughnessleads to his success as a warrior and a leader of the empire. Recreatingthe true story of Genghis Khan on screen, audience will be deeply inspired by the great determination of the legendary Temüjin.

Youngsters Temüjin (Chan) and Börte (Yun) are the best of friends but after the death of his father and leader of his tribe, Temüjin and his mother move away. Years later, Temujin returns to his birthplace with the plan of marrying Börte and protecting his people. However, he falls into a trap laid by his father’s former comrade who has now assumed control of the region, whilst Börte appears to be in danger at the hands of a rival tribe leader. Thus Temüjin begins a long and hazardous journey - to protect both the woman he loves and his treasured homeland.
