“On Happiness Road” is a Taiwanese animation that tells the history and changes of the values of the Taiwanese society through the story of a girl. Director Sun Hsin-yin writes this debut film based on the inspiration of her youth experiences. With the budget of USD2 million, this deeply moving animation takes five years in the making. It won the grand prize at the 5th Tokyo Anime Award Festival as well as the AniMovie Award at the 25th Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film in Germany.

Chi pursues her American dream most of her life. When she finally earns her way to her dreamed country, she finds that things do not turn out in the way she expects, and becomes lost. On a trip home for her grandmother's funeral, Chi stumbles into classmates and friends from years gone by, she begins to feel nostalgic about
