Miss Sunshine


Miss Sunshine is the latest romantic comedy by director Clifton Ko, who has directed some of the best comedies in the 80s and 90s such as Happy Ghost (1984), It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad World (1987), All’s Well, Ends Well (1992), and I Have a Date with Spring (1994). This time, he teams up with four of the most popular goddesses from movie and TV. Shot in the exotic island of Penang, Malaysia, All My Goddess is the story of four best friends who must come to terms with their own issues in life during their reunion.

The story beginsduring a wedding ceremony.Jia Xin (Shirley Yeung) thinksthat she hasmet the man of her dreams, Gary (Christopher Lee) and decides to marry him. They invite all their friends from different parts of the world, including her ex-stewardess colleagues Eileen (Maggie Cheung), Zhou Li Jun(Annie Liu), Ruo Yan (Michelle Wai).

When they arrive at the wedding venue in Penang, the three of them who are busy managing the details of the wedding venue met up with the groom’s best friend, Wong Zi (Louis Cheung), the director for the live broadcast Shin (Alex Fong), best man Lok (Vincent Kok) and others. However, one day before the wedding, Jia Xin decidesto run away; however, what worries the groom most isn’t the fact that the bride hasrun away, but is because the promised live broadcast of the wedding cannot be done. In fact, the reason for the live broadcast of the wedding is because the groom owes a huge sum of money, and the whole wedding isjust a scheme to reap the benefits from the sponsors for the live broadcast of the wedding.

After the wedding, the leftover ladies have different perspective on life and continue life journey in their own ways.
