L for Love, L for Lies Too

(失戀日)

Synopsis:

With a sequel to his 2008 laffer, writer/director Patrick Kong presents another engaging romcom which has seen brisk business at the box office. Eight years on from the original production, darling of Hong Kong cinema Stephy Tang again delights as the much loved Bo, who now in her thirties, is feeling that life might just have passed her by.

Officer worker Bo (Tang) is feeling jaded. She’s recently lost out on promotion to a younger colleague and it appears there is little hope of tying the knot with Sun (Wilfred Lau), her apathetic financial broker boyfriend of seven years. She’s also feeling the heat from her demanding mother (Elaine Jin) who happens to be a successful singer.

On the night she discovers Sun cheating on her, Bo befriends Louis (Louis Cheung), a professional conman. He persuades her to join his entourage and before long she’s juggling heartbreak with a newfound interest in fraud.
