Sky on Fire

Legendary action filmmaker Ringo Lam (“City on Fire”, “Wild City”), who was a muse for Quentin Tarantino, weaves together a story of medical ethics, betrayal and callous corporate greed, with supersonic high-speed chases across the streets of Hong Kong. This action-packed film has grossed RMB 31 million in China alone.

Five years ago, a mysterious fire took the life of Professor Poon, while his research for a revolutionary cure for cancer cure disappeared without a trace. Meanwhile, his assistant Ko Yuk (Zhang Jingchu) escaped death, thanks to the top-level medical facility’s head of security, Chong Tin-po (Daniel Wu). Having lost his wife to cancer, Tin-po hopes that the lab will finally find a cure for cancer, but Ko Yuk is the only researcher who is serious about developing “super stem cells” to save lives. On the other hand, Ko Yuk’s husband, “Sky Number One” president Tong Wing-cheung, is a money-driven, ruthless businessman who will take any means necessary to get his way.

At the same time, Chia-chia (Joseph Chang) has brought his cancer-afflicted sister Jen (Amber Kuo) to Hong Kong in search of a cure, only to find themselves caught in the middle of a daring robbery planned by Professor Poon’s son, Poon Chi-man. Chi-man steals the super stem cells amidst an explosive battle against Tin-po and his security team. With Tin-po fighting to protect the stolen medicine, and Chia-chia needing to steal the medicine to save his sister, all parties find themselves in a moral dilemma…..
