Adapted from Juko Nishimura’s novel Kimi yo Fundo no Kawa wo Watare (“You Must Cross the River of Wrath”), and the 1976 movie of the same name by Junya Sato, “Manhunt” is the latest action-packed thriller by director John Woo (“Mission: Impossible 2”, 2000).  Produced by Gordon Chan (“God of War”, 2017) and Chan Hing-kai (“A Better Tomorrow”, 1986), the film stars Masaharu Fukuyama (“Like Father, Like Son”, 2013), Zhang Hanyu (“Assembly”, 2007), Qi Wei (“Broadcasting Girl”, 2014), Ha Ji-won (“Truth Game”, 2000) and Angeles Woo (“Nuts!”, 2016). It also features the renowned Yohei Tanada as Art Director, Takuro Ishizaka as Director of Cinematography and Taro Iwashiro as the composer of film’s original score.

Upstanding lawyer Du Qiu (Zhang Hanyu) who is framed for murder runs from the police manhunt to uncover the truth behind the case. During investigation, veteran detective Yamura (Masaharu Fukuyama) finds that the seemingly open-and-shut case is not that simple. As the pursuit becomes more intense, a bond begins to build between the fugitive and his pursuer even though Yamura knows that he cannot fully trust Du Qiu.
