Daddy You, Daughter Me

(아빠는 딸)

Synopsis:

“Daddy Me, Daughter You” marks Kim Hyung-hyup’s feature directorial debut. While studying in the USA, he has directed “Synthetic Lust”, “The Gift”, and “Texas Girl”, and has received many awards from film festivals around the world. This film is based on the novel "Seven Days of a Daddy and a Daughter " by Takahisa Igarashi.

As a typical teenager, seventeen-year-old Do-yeon (Jung So-Min) is tired of her dad’s constant nagging about her grades and studying. Meanwhile, her father, Sang-tae (Yoon Je-Moon), doesn’t understand why Do-yeon can’t just study, which he believes is the easiest thing in the world, and why she’s so interested in boys at such an early age.

Much to their surprise, an argument that takes place under a gingko tree one day mysteriously leads to a body swap the very next morning. In order to return to their own bodies, they must live as each other’s counterpart for a full week without getting into an argument! Little by little, office worker Sang-tae discovers the difficulties of being a modern teenager, especially when he auditions for the school talent show and goes on his daughter’s first date! Shocked to realize her father has been working as a section chief for years without a promotion, Do-yeon attempts to navigate the minefield that is the corporate working world, including client dinners and a crucial product presentation that could spell the end for Sang-tae’s entire team! Meanwhile, his colleagues are surprised at his sudden change in demeanor, including his gushing over nail art. Will they be able to complete the week without derailing each other’s lives?
