Synopsis:

Based on a book by Tetsuya Sano, a winner of Japan’s illustrious Dengeki Novel Prize, You Shine in the Moonlight is a tearjerking romance involving a high school student suffering from an incurable disease. Directed by ShoTsukikawa (Let Me Eat Your Pancreas, The 100th Love with You), it stars Mei Nagano (Daytime Shooting Star, My Love Story! ) and actor, model and a lead member of of the dance rock band Dish Takumi Kitamura (Let Me Eat Your Pancreas, Waiting for Spring).

 

Takuya Okada (Kitamura) is a high school student who visits his classmate Mamizu Watarase (Nagano) in hospital where she is suffering from a mysterious ailment called luminescence disease. Victims reveal a faint sparkling under moonlight which becomes brighter as death approaches. Watarase is not allowed out of hospital and will not live long enough to become an adult. Therefore Okada offers to help her fulfil her bucket list of wishes before she passes away. After time Okada falls for Watarase just as death is getting ever closer.
