Flower and Sword

(銀魂)

Synopsis:

Based on a Japanese sci-fi action-comedy manga series which has sold 51 million copies nationwide, the live-action “Gintama” has seen impressive box office, scoring the biggest opening weekend of 2017. Set in the Edo shogunate, this samurai story features Shun Oguri, who played Oda Nobunaga in “Nobunaga Concerto: The Movie” and Masaki Suda who recently graced screens in “Death Note: Light up the NEW world” and “The Backwater”.

In the last days of the Edo Shogunate, Japan is invaded by aliens. Samurais are forced to put down their swords and are treated with disregard. Even Gintoki Sakata (Oguri), a former samurai once known as the “White Demon”, now works as a low-profile handyman.

One day, Gintoki receives a request from a swordsmith to find a cursed sword, Benizakura, that absorbs the spirits of people and evolves into a monster. In trying to track its whereabouts, Gintoki learns that the sword has been stolen by the infamous murderer Nizo Okada (Hirofumi Arai) who had received an order from an ex- samurai, Shinsuke Takasugi (Tsuyoshi Domoto), to overthrow the government. As the mystery comes full circle, Gintoki and his friends must face Takasugi and his clan to retrieve the cursed sword and ensure peace in the country.
