Somewhere Winter

(大約在冬季)

Synopsis:

Somewhere Winter, a love story covering two generations across three cities, is based on a novel by the Chinese best-selling author Xueman Rao. Inspired by a ballad by Taiwanese singer Chyi Chin, the film is directed by David Weiming Wang (Sex Appeal) and stars Sandra Ma (The Left Ear, Soul Mate) and Wallace Huo (Swordsman, Love Me If You Dare).

Standing in front of the venue for Chyi Chin’s concert in 1991, Beijing student An (Ma) is desperately trying to find a ticket for the sold-out event. She is approached by a Taiwanese photographer Xiao (Huo) who gives her free tickets. Two years later they cross paths again. The pair fall in love and the distance between their homes in Taipei and Beijing does not hinder the lovers. However, Xiao’s family puts pressure on him and he marries another woman. Years later Xiao has left his wife and An has been living in Los Angeles. As another Chyi Chin concert approaches, this time in 2019, will destiny give the pair another chance?
